The Black Italian Renaissance
A Sky Original documentary
In 2022, I had the pleasure of contributing to the Sky Original documentary The Black Italian Rennaisance. It features stories of many known and less known Africans in Renaissance Italy: Alessandro De Medici, Antonio Manuel Ne Vunda, but also the Ethiopian diaspora in Rome, and Ṣägga Krәstos.
The documentary includes interviews with historians and public intellectuals. It also features stunning live-action and animated reenactments.
